I would love to hear from you.
I lived in Hendersonville, NC for 14 years. In 1992, my EX-husband joined the Army. From our life in the Army, we were relocated all over the US 8 times. When he got out,the job opportunities required us to move around some more and brought us Kingston, WA. All the relocating has allowed me to collect all the antique quilts and chenille spreads I have. I find most of my quilts and chenille spreads from yard sales, Estate sales and Antique shops from all over the US. I have an extensive collection of them from the Eastern Regions of the US, especially from Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. When I get these quilts, the first thing I do is try to preserve them. When this is impossible, I then create patterns to make my santas, snowmen and angels. There is so much fun and satisfaction in doing what I love and seeing how people appreciate and enjoy my crafts.

I began crafting in 1995, when I dislocated my shoulder and had a small fracture in my collar bone and was not able to work for several months. My mother-in-law got me started in the crafting business by showing me how to make cardboard covered gift boxes. Little did I know that this was going to be the beginning of my crafting endeavors. I never knew there was such a creative side of me. I participated in my first juried craft show in December of that same year at Fort Huachuca, AZ. I was surprised at how much I made and started collecting stuff and began to book shows in Tucson, Phoenix and surrounding areas.

In 1998, we moved back to our home town of Hendersonville, NC. While there I joined the Henderson County Crafters Association where my mother-in-law had been the President. I got myself juried in by the board and began participating in their shows. Two years past and I became their Media/advertising Associate where I helped the Chairman promote the shows. In the same year, I joined Dogwood Crafters, in Dillsboro, NC, the Crafters Depot in Black Mountain, NC, Carolina Mountain Artist Guild and the Four Seasons Arts and Crafts Guild.

In March of 2000, we moved to the Pacific Northwest where I joined the Christmas in The Country shows. If you have never been to one of these shows, you need to take one day and do it. It is so much fun and you get to see all the great crafts from the area. The tour starts at down town Winslow Way, on Bainbridge Island, WA. There, you can pick up a map and tour the island of different Host houses. I have been selling with Christmas in the Country since we have moved back to the Pacific Northwest in 2003 and love it.

In June of 2005, I sold the house on Bainbridge Island and moved to Kingston, WA. I am no longer married but I do love it here and I plan to stay. I plan to start my own crafters group here and just enjoy doing what I love most, being creative.

Currently, my crafts can be seen and bought at The Pine Cone Gifts shop in Kingston, WA. This shop features local handmade Arts and Crafts. Stop by and see what's new if you happen to be in the area. It is a great little shop located on Hwy 104, in the Albertson's shopping Center. There are over 200 Vendors currently selling at this shop so come see all the unique handmade crafts.

On November 2, 2005, I was filmed making my Chubby snowman and Cinnamon Stick Santa to be shown on HGTV's segment called "That's Clever." It was fun and exhausting at the same time. I have to say that I have a new found respect for actors. I will leave it to the professionals and keep my day job. I have been told that it will air sometimes at the beginning of November 2006.

When I am not crafting, I love to garden and work in my yard. Working in my garden keeps me relaxed and keeps my mind creating. My two boston terriers occupy most of my free time also. I love to travel and see what new things people are creating in different regions of the world.
